Definition
The entry in this field represents a record of the Duty Assignments infotype (0796) for the corresponding employee. The one- to eight-character entry shown here denotes the assignment of a duty to the employee - that is, responsibility for a specific field of employment in accordance with the employee's position and the employee's current degree of licensing or certification.
In Customizing for Payroll USA (PY-US), you configure duty assignments by choosing Supplements Public Sector US -> Certification and Licensing -> Duty Assignments -> Define Duty Assignments.
Example
In an academic workplace, SOPHCHEM, APMATH or GRADE8PE could all be valid duty assignments for teachers, indicating Sophomore Chemistry, Advanced Placement Mathematics or Eighth-Grade Physical Education
In a medical workplace, valid duty assignments could include ICURN, PANESTHE or MRITECH for hospital personnel, indicating ICU Nurses, Pediatric Anesthesiologists or MRI Technologists.
