Definition
The code that is used to define a validation group.
A validation group is a logical grouping of fields for validation, table access methods for use in the validations, and the validation checks that are configured using the fields and table access methods that are attached to the validation group.
To create validations, you must first do the following:
- Create a Validation Group.
- Attach the required Validation Field Groups to the Validation Group.
- Attach the required Validation Table Access Groups to the Validation Group.
Then in the validation configuration, you will be able select from the fields from the attached Validation Field Groups, and be able to use the functions defined in the attached Validation Table Access Groups.
Use
If validation rules are needed for any of the supported applications, a Validation Group must be created. In particular, for the U.S. Federal functionality, the Central Personnel Data File (CPDF) Dynamics and Status File validations may be configured here, and they would need to be included in a validation group.
