Documentation
Definition
This field defines the increment of time, in minutes, that the system will apply to round down and return to donor employees any balances of unused leave that remain in direct donations. The increment defined here is generally applied to process the proportional return of unused leave to multiple donor employees.
Note
This setting is only used to round down and return balances to donor employees. This setting is not used to return balances to absence pools.
Use
If your organization chooses to establish an increment of time - typically 15 Minutes - for the return of unused leave, then enter that increment in this field. (All entries in this field appear in minutes; no other time unit is supported.) In response, the system will apply the increment you define here to round down and return balances of unused leave to donor employees.
If no entry is present in this field, then no increment of time will be applied to round down balances of unused leave.
Dependencies
Example
Suppose that you define a setting of 60 Minutes for this absence pool. One employee assigned to this absence pool received 30 hours from one colleague and 10 hours from a second colleague, giving this employee a total donation of 40 hours. Upon returning to work, this employee leaves an unused balance of six hours, of which 4.5 hours should be returned to the first colleague, and 1.5 hours should be returned to the second.
Because you specified an increment of 60 Minutes in this field, the system will round down to the closest hour, meaning that four hours will be returned to the first employee and one hour will be returned to the second. (If you had specified no increment here, then no rounding would have occurred.)
