Use

The pay basis for an employee is used to specify the length of the period for which an amount of pay is reported.

The possible values are:

Code    Explanation

BW    Bi-weekly

FB    Fee basis

PA    Per annum

PD    Per diem

PH    Per hour

PM    Per month

PW    Piece work

SY    School year

WC    Without compensation

Example

A federal employee with pay plan GS is reported on a per annum basis, so the employee's pay basis is PA.
