Documentation
Definition
This field, when populated, indicates the minimum number of service months that otherwise eligible employees are required to possess in order to participate in the absence pool at hand.
If no entry is present in this field, then no minimum number of service months will be applied to participants of this absence pool.
Use
If your organization wishes to establish a minimum number of service months as a criterion for employee participation in the absence pool at hand, then enter the desired number of months in this field.
Once you have entered this number, only employees who are otherwise eligible and who have worked for your organization for that number of months (or longer) will be eligible to participate in this absence pool.
Dependencies
Example
Suppose you have established three absence pools in your organization, each of which applies to a different organizational unit. For each of these absence pools, a separate example is provided below.
- In your first absence pool, you have not determined that only full-time employees are eligible to participate. Therefore, by default, all employees are eligible to participate in this absence pool. Also, you have established no minimum number of service months for participation. With these settings, any employee with any length of service will be eligible to participate in this absence pool.
- In your second absence pool, you have determined that only full-time employees are eligible to participate, and you have established 8 as the minimum number of service months. With these settings, all full-time employees will be eligible to participate, but only if they have eight months of service (or more). Therefore, a part-time employee with 36 months of service would not be eligible to participate, nor would a full-time employee with six months of service.
- In your third absence pool, you have not selected the checkbox Full-Time Employees Only, meaning that all employees are eligible to participate by default. However, you have established 8 as the minimum number of service months. Using these settings, any employee will be eligible to participate in the absence pool, but only if they have eight months of service (or more). Therefore, a part-time employee with 36 months of service would be eligible to participate, while a full-time employee with six months of service would be ineligible.
