Definition

'Wage type' is the most important control concept in payroll accounting. It embodies a large number of specific characteristics related to legal matters and technical procedures.

Typical examples of wage types might include:
/001 Hourly wage -> Base pay you enter once via
the infotype 0008 'Basic pay'
/101 Cumulated gross pay -> Not entered, but calculated
by system
/3xx ER share of SS -> Calculated by system, stored
contributions in payroll results cluster
M006 Overtime on holidays-> Can be automatically added
or only allowed after approval
M211 Company pension -> Like regular pay, one entry
necessary if amount changes

This Wage Type will trigger the bond deductions from the employee's pay, record contributions made todate, and enable the amount deducted to be remitted to the financial institution to pay off the Bond in the USA and the loan in Canada.
