Run P45 report in Test mode
If you run the P45 report in test mode, a P45 form will be created. However, no modifications will be made to the employees Tax Data GB (0065) record.
To run the report in test mode, set the indicator in the field Test run. On the bottom of each part of the P45 form you will see that the form is created in Test mode.
In addition, you can choose the following options if you run the report in test mode:
- It is only possible to process one P45 form in productive mode for each employee. The reason being is that the report changes tax record data in the system during a productive run mode. However, there is no limit to the number of times you process a P45 form for an employee in test mode. If you would like to process the P45 from for employees who leave the company and already have P45 forms, set the indicator Repeat P45 issue. The P45 form will be produced with the same issue date that you see in the Tax Data GB (0065) record, and not from the Selection screen of the P45 report.
- You can produce a theoretical P45 form for employees who are still employed by using their latest payroll results in the selected period. The leaving date will then be on the end date of selected period. To do this, set indicator Test for active employees. The theoretical P45 forms will be produced only for employees who are still active between the beginning date of the payroll year and the current date or the end date of selected period, if the end date of selected period is before the current date.
Note: If a former employee loses their P45 or you find out later that an error has been made, the former employee must contact the Inland Revenue office immediately. You must never create an additional form or amend an already processed P45.
Therefore, it is recommended that you run the report in test mode until you are certain that the report can be run in productive mode.
