Documentation
Definition
You use this indicator to switch Exclusive Absence Grouping on or off.
Use
Each Absence is defined assigned to an Absence Grouping. Each "Entitlement Payment Rule" is defined for a specific Absence Grouping. If you set this indicator, then ONLY an exact match of the Absence Groupings will mean that an employee's absence receives the entitlement from this "Entitlement Payment Rule" That is, BOTH characters are compared for an exact match.
If you do not set this indicator, a less stringent test comparison test is performed. The nature of this less stringent test is as follows:
- If the absence was eligible for OSP but not SSP (absence grouping of '.S'), but the Entitlement Payment Rule is for absences elligible for both OSP and SSP (absence grouping of 'SS'), then the rule would be applicable for this absence.
The ONLY check performed is whether both are eligible for OSP. That is, only the second character is compared for an exact match.
- If you set this indicator and the Absence Grouping is for Statutory Sickness Payment, then the Normal Daily Payment Wage Type is MANDATORY. If you do not set this indicator and the Absence Grouping is for Occupational Sickness Payment or Industrial Injury Payment, then the Normal Daily Payment Wage Type is MANDATORY as the absence could be SSP'able.
