Definition

This is a numeric key for time and measurement units. Certain keys have a fixed meaning in the program and may not be changed.

The associated field is used differently for input and output.

Example

This field is the specific Time Unit used in Absence Evaluation. The Time Units are used to describe the length of the Rollback Period and the amount of Entitlement in a Payment Band. (As a customer you may have different requirements for Time Units, other than ones provided as standard by SAP.)

1) Rollback Period Time Units (provided by SAP)

'R13' Rollback in Calendar Years.
(i.e. rollback one year from 02.02.1997 gives 02.02.1996. This is
one calendar year, NOT a rollback of 365 days, as 1996 has 366
days.)

'R12' Rollback in Calendar Months.

'R10' Rollback in Calendar Days.

2) Entitlement Amount Time Units (provided by SAP)

'E11' Entitlement Weeks.
(i.e. 1 Entitlement Week for an employee with 5 working days in
their Personnel Work Schedule will receive 5 days entitlement.
However an employee with 6 working days would receive 6 days
entitlement.) HOWEVER, employee's with a Personnel Work Schedule
on a SHIFT basis, (i.e. working 14 days 'on' and 7 days 'off')
MUST NOT use this Time Unit as they will receive an incorrect
amount of entitlement.

'E10' Entitlement Days.
(i.e. 10 Entitlement Days for an employee with 5 working days in
their Personnel Work Schedule will receive 10 days entitlement,
but ONLY on working days. Likewise, an employee with 6 working
days would receive 10 days entitlement, but ONLY on working
days.)

3) 'Time Unit Multiplier' Time Units (provided by SAP)

Althougth the term is rather a convolluted one, it simply means that these Time Units can be used as Rollback Periods or Entitlement Amounts. However, first they must be further defined to describe exactly what they mean in the standard Time Unit of a calendar day.

'001' Time Unit 'Hours' Multiplier 0.125

'010' Time Unit 'Days' Multiplier 1.000

'011' Time Unit 'Weeks' Multiplier 7.000

'012' Time Unit 'Months' Multiplier 30.000

'013' Time Unit 'Years' Multiplier 365.000

Using '001' as an entitlement time unit will imply that 400 hours are translated into an entitlement of 50 calendar days.

Using '011' as an rollback period time unit will imply that 40 weeks are translated into an rollback period of 280 calendar days.

Further notes

For an Entitlement Amount of 1 month, SAP provides the standard Time Measurement Unit of '012' for Months. This can be further defined by stipulating the number of days in a month using table T5GPBS24. (i.e. 1 month at Full Pay may imply 26 working days. For this requirement the number of days in a month should be 26. The days qualifying for a Full Pay should only be Working Days defined in table T5GPBS22.)
