Documentation
Short text
Absence valuation rule.
Definition
The absence valuation rule describes absences based on the business demands made of absence valuation in payroll accounting.
Use
The absence valuation rule also influences which figures are used for statistical and cost accounting purposes in that it specifies an assignment to particular value categories. Examples of value categories are paid leave, unpaid leave and unpaid sickness.
Absences can be cumulated according to the value categories for further evaluations in cost assignment and for statistics and factoring.
Example
This valuation rule is used specifically to mark and process "Nil Pay" days of absence. A Nil Pay day is when a day qualifies to reduce an employee's entitlement, BUT is NOT covered by any of the "Entitlement Absence Bands" (i.e. Full Pay Sickness).
This is a "Catch All": It will be used for ALL absences. If you wish to record anything more exact than "Nil Pay", you must create a different Absence Valuation Rule of type "Complete Day" and add it to the bands in your scheme rules. See the documentation on Nil Pay in the IMG.
These should be set up in standard customising. The Valuation Rule are set up in Standard customising using tables T554L, T554C and then specifically customised for the requirements of an Absence Evaluation Scheme into Valuation Rule Groupings in T5GPBS27.
