Documentation
Definition
The attendance or absence category is assigned to an attendance or absence type. It is used to generate the personal calendar (in Austria, for example).
Description
Valid absence symbol taken from the employee's personal calendar.
Functionality
This two character field is ALL ready used by STANDARD software for SSP and SMP. If the first character is an 'S' then the Absence is SSP'able and if it is an 'M' then it is SMP'able.
The second character is now being used for Grouping Absences for Absence Evaluation & Payment Schemes (OSP or OMP). The available grouping as standard are as follows;
Occupational Sickness Payment only .S
Occupational Maternity Payment only .I
Industrial Injury Payment only .M
Statutory Sickness Payment only S.
Statutory Maternity Payment only M.
BOTH SSP and OSP SS
BOTH SSP and IIP SI
BOTH SMP and OMP MM
NOT ANY Any other two character combinations
Example
If you have a group of absences that recieve Occupational Sick Pay and Statutory Sick Pay then the ABSTY in table T554S MUST be 'SS' for the WHOLE group. If there is an entry of 'SS' in this rule then ALL the absence in th WHOLE group will be affected by this rule.
In this way, Entitlement Payment Bands and Non-Payment Patterns can be associated to specific groups of absences in a specific scheme.
