Definition
This is the rebate percentage assigned by the National Insurance Contributions Office (NICO).
If an employee's gross pay is between the Lower Earnings Level and the Earnings Threshold, he or she receives a NI credit or rebate.
It is calculated as the difference between the standard non-contracted-out NI rate (10%) and the contracted-out rate (8.4%). In this case, the rebate is percentage rate is 1.6%.
This applies only to category D and F.
