Definition

The amount type designates the amount to be calculated or to be used as the calculation base.

Use

It is used within the framework of the calculation of the minimum salary and contribution exemptions for employees with a special contract type identified by the 'exemption modifier' in table T5F42.

The calculation elements for an amount are defined for each type of amount.

An amount type may also be used in the calculation formula for another amount.

For example, the amount type 'MIN_SAL' corresponds to the minimum salary and the calculation elements which are associated with it are used to calculate its amount. But the amount type 'MIN_SAL' may also be used within the calculation formula for the amount type 'EXE_CON' when the contribution exemption is calculated on the basis of the minimum salary calculated previously.

Dependencies

2 types of amounts are provided in standard version by SAP. These are:

  • 'MIN_SAL' which represents the minimum salary to be predisplayed in the infotype 0008 'Basic salary' when the FSPEC indirect valuation method is used.
  • 'EXO_COT' represents the part of the salary exempt from contributions.

Other types of amounts may be freely defined by you to fulfill to your needs.
