Definition

When converting an absence, the system first attempts to use the preferred absence type specified here. The system instead uses the alternative absence type (P03_AWART_ALT) only if errors occur during the conversion process.

Example

In the event of a missing illness notification, the system is supposed to convert absences for which the original absence type is Illness (0300) to the preferred absence type Entitled Leave (0100). If, for whatever reason, this is not possible (because not enough leave days are available, for example), the system should instead convert the absence to the absence type Unpaid Leave at Expense of EE (0700).
