Country-Specific Information

Switzerland

The status information for short-term residents influences the withholding tax statements for Geneva in ISEL format (Impôts source en ligne).

The following types of short-term residents are differentiated:

  • L: Short-term resident who remains in Switzerland for up to 18 months
  • CHL1: Short-term resident who remains in Switzerland for up to 4 months at a time
  • CHL2: Short-term resident who stays in Switzerland for up to 120 days within 12 months
  • CHL3: Short-term resident who remains in Switzerland up for up to 24 months

Employees with residence permit status L, CHL1, or CHL2 are reported with tax subtype Autorisation permis 120 jours (3).

Employees with residence permit status CHL3 are reported with tax subtype Salariés (1).
