Definition

The time constraint controls whether an infotype can exist several times at a given time. The following time constraint indicators are permitted:

  • 1: The infotype must be continuous without gaps and can only occur once at any time. The last valid record for this infotype in the database cannot be deleted (message: All records for this infotype would be deleted).
  • 2: Gaps are permitted, however, multiple records are not.
  • 3: Gaps and multiple records are permitted.

The following can also be used as a time constraint indicator:

  • A: The infotype can only exist once and is valid from 01.01.1800 to 31.12.9999. This means that no splits can occur.
The Infotypes That Are Created Automatically view (V_T582B) controls whether the infotype is created automatically by the system when the employee is hired or when the applicant data is first entered.
Infotypes with time constraint A must not be deleted.
  • B: The infotype can exist a maximum of once and is valid from 01.01.1800 to 31.12.9999. This means that no splits can occur.
Infotypes with time constraint B can be deleted.
  • T: The time constraint is dependent on the subtype.
  • Z: These are infotypes from Time Management. The time constraint is determined from the Absence: General Control view (V_T554S_I) using the time constraint class and from the Time Constraint for Time Management Infotypes view (V_T554Y) using the collision check.
