Definition
Contains the employee's identification number (§139b of the German Fiscal Code).
The identification number is used for fiscal purposes and is valid for life. It does not contain any information about the employee or the responsible tax office. In the ELStAM procedure, an employment relationship is determined with the clearing house by the identification number and the tax number of the employer.
