Definition

The PI Key field controls the calculation, assignment, and deduction of contributions for a disruptive event to pension insurance.

Use

The Pension Insurance Indicator is a partial map of the official contribution group key and is only used internally.

0: No insurance liability

When employees are coded with indicator 0, no PI contributions are calculated in payroll accounting.

1: Full contribution for hourly worker

Set the indicator to 1 for hourly workers who are fully liable for pension insurance contributions.

2: Full contribution for salaried employee

Set the indicator to 2 for salaried employees who are fully liable for pension insurance contributions.

Starting in 2005, use indicator 1 instead of indicator 2.

3: Half contribution for hourly worker

When an employee is coded with indicator 3, half of the contribution for the hourly worker in pension insurance is calculated.
The system only calculates the employer's contribution.

4: Half contribution for salaried employee

When an employee is coded with indicator 4, half of the contribution for the salaried employee in pension insurance is calculated.
The system only calculates the employer's contribution.

Starting in 2005, use indicator 3 instead of indicator 4.

5: Professionals scheme

Use indicator 5 for employees who are insured with a professionals pension scheme.

7: Flat rate contribution

Use indicator 7 for low-income employees.
The employer pays the flat rate contribution.

9: Flat rate employer, rest employee

Use indicator 9 for a low-income employee who has waived the right to PI exemption.
The employer pays the flat rate amount; the employee pays the difference between the flat rate amount and the full PI-liable contribution.
