Payments are made to the Minerals Management Service (MMS) or other government agency on the basis of where the mineral products originate. For MMS-2014 reporting, they can either be federal lands, or Indian lands. This field identifies the property or land as being either federal land or Indian land.

Note that you cannot report Federal and Indian leases on the same Form-2014.
