Documentation
Definition
If the Trace flag is set, the Ownership system will generate a very detailed analysis of the transfer process for each document. This is usually only used to solve complex problems within the Ownership system, and is not generally for customer use. Thus, it is not recommended that you set this flag, unless you would like to do that kind of detailed technical analysis. The effect of setting the Trace flag is that you can then do a very detailed analysis of the trace buffer.
The trace flag has effects - if you set it - on two separate areas within Ownership:
- Owner transfers (owner transfer requests):
If you set the Trace flag in the IMG (it is customized per client), it will have the following effects:
- When you do an owner transfer, the trace captures the last process state of the division of interest (DOI). This includes: DO records and subrecords, and funds transfers, processing instructions.
The buffer trace captures what was in the buffer when the document completed and committed, or what was in the buffer, when an error occurred. The contents of the buffer are flushed out into a trace log. You can then select the Transfer job button in the trace log, and a dialog box appears. On the dialog box, there is a Trace log / funds report pushbutton that you can select to view the details.
- Division of Interest Check-In
If you set the Trace flag in the IMG (customized per client), it will have the following effects:
- When you check in the division of interest, there is a comparison made between the work area and the system area. The 'delta' of that - the changes, are captured in a trace log. Like the above, this shows a 'snapshot' of the buffer at a particular time.
You select Check-In Job. Then, select Trace/Funds. That will take you to the buffer trace, which shows the changes.
b. Division of interest check-in
