Definition
PVR (plant volume reduction) is the volume of natural gas liquid that is lost when processing gas through a plant.
Plant volume reduction is calculated in valuation through the WETLESRES formula and is measured in MCF (million cubic feet). PVR is the wet gas volume minus the residue volume produced at the plant. PVR is only used with NGL (natural gas liquids), and it represents a reduction in plant through-put.
