Definition
The organization levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 are entities that are used to subdivide or organize units of a PRA company (the entities mirror the entities that PRA companies typically use). Subdividing the PRA company is useful for reporting purposes, among other reasons. This allows reporting at units lower than the company code level.
Normally, reporting in the ERP System is at a company code level. This allows you to report at entity levels lower than the company code level.
An example:
- Org. level 1 - Company level
- Org. level 2 - Regional level
- Org. level 3 - Division level
- Org. level 4 - District level
The breakdown into org. levels is generally geographic. In PRA, the org.level entry is a three-character designation - a number - representing one of those entities. The org.levels are interrelated, in other words, org. 2 is connected to (organizationally dependent on) org. 1, org. 3 is connected to org.2 and org.1.
There is a cross reference between the organization entry and the company code in Customizing.
In Royalty Reporting migration transactions, Company(ORG1) indicates the company for which data is migrated.
