Definition

The account category is a grouping of one or more individual accounts in JE.

It represents a type of account, such as taxes payable or accounts receivable, under which more than one JE account can be grouped. For example, an account category could be accounts payable, and under that, you could have three different accounts (each represented in the system by an account ID) representing different payment situations that your company uses. From a system perspective, an account category is a group of account numbers.
