Definition

The Normal Recording Time Frame represents the expected lag between the production date of a material and the accounting period in the system. This value is important because it is used to determine the accounting period for a transaction, and to determine whether to report amounts as current or prior for income analysis. The value is important for income analysis when the value is entered into the system earlier than the company wants to report it or make disbursements. The valid values are:

Acct month = production month -- Indicates that the recording month equals the production month

Acct month = prod month + 1 -- Indicates that the recording month is one month following the production month

Acct month = prod month + 2 -- Indicates that the recording month is two months after the production month

Not determined by prod month -- Indicates that the recording occurs irregularly, or more than two months late. Used for properties that are recorded quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
