Definition
Generally, measurement readings are rounded according to the rules defined for the specific unit of measure (UoM), (which is set up in customizing in the activity Define Rounding, under Industry Solution Oil & Gas (PRA) --> Global Settings --> Units of Measure --> Define Rounding).
If rounding rules are not specified for the unit of measure, a default of three decimal places is assumed by the system.
If you set this flag, the rounding rules specified on the reading type characteristics will be used, instead of those specified for the UoM.
You could use this, for example, if a measurement reading is to be displayed with differing numbers of decimal places for different measurement types. In that case, two reading types would be created, and at least one of these would have the 'reading type rounding' flag set, so as to use the rounding specified for the reading type, rather than the rounding specified for the UoM.
