Definition
The measurement type, from the point of view of the Measurement System. The measurement type is determined by the type of transaction that is being processed.
A measurement type is a consistent set of readings that are taken together for a specific PRA business object (for example, a well completion or measurement point) in a measurement class. Each measurement class is assigned a set of valid measurement types. The measurement type includes rules for the input of measurements, including expected frequency, user authorization, and a link to SAP validation.
The measurement type stores readings and their specific characteristics. Characteristis include: reading type, reading group, status, position, derived or observed conditions, and display control.
For example, if the type of transaction is generic gas, you would select MD_GGEN ("generic gas"). If the transaction were well completion daily pressures, you would select WC_DPS as the measurement type.
