Definition
A calculation that is performed within a measurement document.
Each calculation is assigned to a single function which contains the code necessary to perform the calculation.
Several calculations may be performed for a single measurement document. If so, they are performed in a specified sequence.
Each calcuation has inputs (observed readings) and outputs (derived readings). Observed readings may be derived in previous calculations and derived readings may be used as observed readings in following calculations.
