Definition
The footprint capacity of a vehicle defines the (footprint) area available for cargo.
Use
The footprint capacity determines the size of cargo that will fit in or on the vehicle. This capacity is relevant in transportation planning for non-bulk cargo, especially on vehicles with transport units that are not closed areas (open-air transport units such as the deck space on a ship).
