Definition

Tracking hierarchies are prepared using one or more objects as a starting point and using navigation functions to determine following objects. With the exception of the initial objects, objects may be included or excluded from the hierarchy by redefining the navigation functions that are used.

This setting is used to allow the initial objects to be excluded from the hierarchy if required. This is useful when merging hierarchies by matching objects other than the initial object; for example, when merging hierarchies based on a purchase order item when the initial object is a purchase order header.
