Definition

Identifier for the type of Remote Logistics Management (RLM) container.

The containers used by the RLM system may derive master data from varying sources. The container type defines the source of the master data.

There are four different types of container derivation within the RLM system, but you can add additional container types, as required.

1 =    Oil & Gas Containers - Containers are defined using a dedicated container master data transaction.

2 =    PM equipment containers - Containers are defined as "pieces" of equipment in the PM database (this is a core SAP Plant Maintenance object).

3 =    Internet Containers. Containers are defined on the Internet - externally from the SAP RLM system, usually at the web site of a container rental company. At present, this container type is supplied without functionality, and it will be your responsibility to program a link to the Internet site if you want to use this option.

4 =     One-off containers (single-use containers). Containers are not defined in any master file. This type of container will be used when a container is used just once and so it does not make sense to create a master record.
