Definition

Target coverage is the number of days that need to be considered in the target stock calculation during planning. It is the the number of days that the target stock level should cover.

The calculation of the target level works in the same way as the safety level calculation.

Example

If a location sells 5,000 gallons per day and it is necessary to have enough stock to supply for 10 days, then the safety/target stock level is 5,000 gallons x 10 days= 50,000 gallons of safety/target stock. The safety/target cover is the number of days the location could continue to make issues after the safety/target stock level is reached, based on the standard day.
