Documentation
Definition
The system calculates target stock levels using historical use data, the factory calendar, and the Calendar Usage Profile.
The calculation of the target stock works in the same way as the calculation of the safety stock level.
The length of each day is a factor that must be considered when calculating safety or target stock. The length of each day is represented in TSW as a percentage value of each day's use.
The Target Stock Calendar Usage Profile makes it possible to define a percentage value for each weekday (if no percent values are entered, all days are assumed to be full days). When a profile is defined and assigned, any changes apply only at the profile level. The profile represents the company's opening hours policy, which generally will be similar for many locations.
Example
A given location is only open half a day on Saturday. As a result, the length of that day is defined as 50 percent in the Calendar Usage Profile for purposes of calculating the safety/target stock level.
Note
The percentage for each day can be more than 100 percent.
