Definition
You can use the nomination relevance period during Three-Way Pegging. When you select vehicles for scheduling, the system checks the last nomination using that vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is available in the time period you require.
The value you enter for the nomination relevance period determines which nominations (with a vehicle assignment) the system takes into acccount during the transportation availability calculation. Using the nomination relevance period, you can exclude nominations that are obviously no longer relevant for the availability calculation.
Example
A bulk movement is required in Hamburg in 10 days. The last nomination using the vehicle that is required for the shipment was completed 20 days ago ending with a final delivery in Amsterdam. The system determines that the route from Hamburg to Amsterdam takes two days. So, the shipment isn't needed until 10 days from now and the travel time only requires two days. By entering a value of 15 for the nomination relevance period, the scheduler can exclude all nominations that ended 15 days ago from the availability check, because those vehicles are definitely available for the time period in which the shipment to Hamburg is required.
