Documentation
Definition
This field is for defining the maximum possible depth of dip for the bulk storage object. Dipping is typically carried out using a dipping rod calibrated according to a linear unit of measure. This value is converted to a volumetric value during the strapping process. In normal cases the value entered in this field will strap to the maximum capacity of the storage object. The value may also be used to calculate the minimum permissible air or vapour space above the liquid in the storage object.
Procedure
Enter the maximum possible depth of dip for the storage object.
Examples
A truck unloads a delivery into a tank at a customer site. The driver uses a dipping rod to ascertain the amount of free space in the tank before the delivery commences. He/she can do this by strapping the dip value of the existing tank contents and subtracting this from the maximum capacity of the tank.
Dependencies
None at present.
