Documentation
Definition
The amount of material remaining after pump scavenging of the storage object is no longer feasible. This is expressed as a percentage of the total capacity of the storage object. It follows that a low percentage value will indicate an effective design of pump intake and/or sump (at least for tank clearance purposes). The usable volume of the tank is therefore:
total capacity - (total capacity * unpumpable percentage / 100)
Procedure
Enter the unpumpable quantity of the storage object expressed as a percentage of the maximum capacity of the storage object.
Examples
A service station can reassign the use of a particular tank from leaded petroleum to unleaded petroleum if the traces of leaded petroleum in the resulting blend do not exceed over 0.001% of the total volume of product after delivery. Above this amount damage could occur to the catalytic converters of cars using unleaded petroleum from this tank. If the unpumpable quantity of the tank exceeds 0.001% of the total capacity of the tank, the re-assignment of use will not be possible without manual extraction of the residue of leaded petroleum before the first delivery of unleaded petroleum.
