Definition
The maximum gross safety weight/mass of the bulk storage object is the weight of the storage object plus material which may not be exceeded. This is normally for structural reasons and in most cases will not be less than the weight of the maximum volume of material the storage object is capable of containing.
Procedure
Enter the maximum gross weight/mass and unit of measure that the storage object is permitted to weigh.
Examples
A structural engineer determines that the foundations of a storage silo are weak and therefore the silo load capacity must be reduced. An exit in goods movement validation checks the reduced safety weight of the silo (storage location) and blocks the good movement if the material quantity by weight (plus the silo net weight) exceeds the gross safety weight/mass defined for the storage object.
