Definition
Linear dip reading for the bulk storage object formatted so as to have three decimal places on the input screen. From this reading, the system will calculate a volumetric correlate from the available tank strapping table.
Procedure
Enter a linear dip value with three decimal places.
Examples
You want to measure the quantity of material contained in a particular storage object. You measure the depth of material in the storage object at the dipping point by using a dipping rod. You need to convert the depth reading on the dipping rod into a volumetric reading. The conversion is carried out automatically by the system according to the linear/ volumetric conversion constants defined for the storage object. You enter a linear value of 456 millimeters. The system reads the conversion set or strapping table and calculates a correlate of 8344,210 liters.
