Documentation
Definition
This field is for defining the maximum possible dip depth for the bulk storage object. Dipping is typically carried out using a dipping rod calibrated according to a linear unit of measure. That value is converted to a volumetric value during the strapping process. In normal situations, the value entered in this field will 'strap' to the maximum capacity of the storage object. The value may also be used to calculate the minimum permissible air or vapor space above the liquid in the storage object.
Procedure
Enter the maximum possible dip depth for the storage object.
Examples
A truck unloads a delivery into a tank at a customer site. The driver uses a dipping rod to ascertain the amount of free space in the tank before the delivery begins. The driver can do that by strapping the dip value of the existing tank contents and subtracting that from the maximum capacity of the tank.
Dependencies
None at present.
