Documentation
Definition
The sequence number is used as an item number to distinguish multiple storage objects which may exist for a single reference object (for example customer or business location).
Procedure
In normal circumstances, do not enter a number in this field; the system will do that automatically. The proposal may be overwritten if required. However, please note that the system will reject duplicate tank numbers for the specific reference object.
Examples
A customer has four tanks at a specific 'ship-to' location. Information about the customer's tanks is needed to support specific planning processes. As the tanks belong to an external party, there is no direct mapping of these tanks to an existing storage entity (for examplestorage location or bin). It is therefore necessary to assign a free tank number to differentiate between the customer's tanks.
Dependencies
The possibility of defining a free tank number is dependent on the access mode by which the storage object characteristic document is accessed.
