Definition
Light petroleum products (LPG/NGL) and natural gas volumes are measured using a specific set of standard reference conditions, i.e. at a specified temperature and pressure at which the volume is to be measured. For natural gas, the heating value may separately be measured at a second set of temperature and pressure conditions, at which the combustion process takes place.The base pressure specifies the pressure at which the product is kept at standard conditions.
