Definition

Shift change compensation ensures that an employee does not lose out financially by working a substitution.

If the Shift change compensation field is active, the difference between two levels of remuneration for a substitution can be adjusted automatically in payroll.

This is always to the advantage of the employee.

Examples

1. If an employee normally works the night shift and has to substitute for a colleague on the day shift, he is still paid the rate for the night
   shift (including bonuses).
2. An employee who normally works the day shift and substitutes for a colleague on the night shift is paid the night shift rate.

You should activate this field if the substitution type is relevant to shift change compensation.
