Definition
Indicator for PRN medication. If this indicator is set for an order then the drug was ordered pro re nata. During event generation one PRN medication main event is created with the entire daily dose for each day. The actual administration events are only created when the administration is documented.

Example
Three tablets a day have been ordered pro re nata. The administering nurse decides whether he/she wishes to administer all 3 tablets, or just 1 or 2 tablets depending on the patient's requirement.
