The current status of a drug entry arises from the period of validity of the drug entry with reference to the current date.

If the current date lies within the period of validity, this is an active formulary entry. This drug can be ordered.

Example

If the start of validity is in the future, this is a preactive formulary entry which will become valid in the future.

If no date is entered, this formulary entry has been created in advance.
