Example

The following activation statuses can be assigned to the drugs in the formulary:

Inactive: No period of validity assigned. The system will assign this activation status to new drugs which you add to the formulary.

Preactive: The beginning and end of the period of validity are in the future. This drug cannot be ordered. The administrator of the formulary can, however, assign attribute values to the drug. An MM entry can also be created.

Active: The beginning of the period of validity is the current date or lies in the past, the end of the period of validity is in the future. Only active drugs may be ordered.

Deactivated: The beginning and end of the period of validity both lie in the past. Deactivated drugs can no longer be ordered. A reason must be entered when a drug is deactivated.
