Definition
The initiating OU is the organizational unit (OU) on whose orders a clinical order for admission or surgery/treatment is entered.
The clinical order can be entered by the initiating OU itself or by another facility, for example, a call center.
Note on clinical order and preregistration: The preregistration is a kind of clinical order. SAP Patient Management (IS-H) only uses Preregistration, whereas ISHMED also uses other kinds of clinical order. Therefore explanations for IS-H always concern the preregistration.
