Definition
Subdivision of a vendor's entire product range according to various criteria.
The following applies to each vendor subrange:
- The master data is shared.
- Certain conditions are applicable.
Use
In the vendor master record of each vendor subrange, you can enter alternative purchasing data and alternative partner roles.
You can also enter and change the conditions for each vendor subrange. You assign a material to a vendor subrange in the purchasing info record.
Dependencies
In the vendor master record, you can define alternative data for certain vendor subranges (for example, ordering addresses or terms of payment).
When creating an order with a known vendor, the system determines the alternative data only when the vendor subrange is entered on the initial screen.
Example
Your vendor, Smith, Inc. of Chicago offers two subranges: Paints and Adhesives.
All materials of the Paints subrange are ordered in Chicago.
In the vendor master record, you entered an alternative ordering address located in New York for the Adhesives subrange.
When you order materials belonging to the Paints subrange, the system uses the vendor subrange to determine the ordering address in New York.
