Definition
Unit of time for determining an interest rate: A unit of time (such as a month) is always linked to the number of time units (for example three).
Use
Application 1:
If in maintaining a costing rule a user chooses to have the opportunity interest rate to be calculated as an average interest rate from the interest rate tables, the system needs to know which interest term to use (for exmple, three month interest rate), and over which period of time the average should be calculated (for example, over 12 months).
Application 2:
If in maintaining a costing rule a user decides that the opportunity interest rate should be both calculated and adjusted on a daily basis, this interest term (unit of time and number of units, for example, three months) determines the relevant interest rate from the interest rate table.
