Definition
This indicator determines whether an option is a call or a put option.
- A call option is a contract which gives the holder the right to buy the base value at the exercise price up to the expiry date. The seller of the option is obliged to sell the base value at the exercise price if the holder exercises the option.
- A put option is a contract which gives the holder the right (but not the obligation) to sell the base value at the exercise price up to the expiry date. The seller of the option is obliged to buy the base value at the exercise price if the holder exercises the option.
Use
This indicator is used to differentiate the option positions. The option category is transferred within external data transfer.
