Definition

With this indicator you decide whether (or how) market volume is to be calculated for single transactions/positions.

Use

The user has the following possibilities:

  • Calculating the market volume using SAP Banking
  • Calculating the market volume and the average market volume using SAP Banking (only for security positions and foreign exchange positions)
  • Transferring the market volume
  • Applying a user exist for calculating the market volume

In the first two options, the user chooses a predefined procedure for calculating market volume. This depends on the procedure group of the transaction or position in question.

The procedure groups have the following significance for the calculation of market volume:

  • Stocks, bonds, share holdings, subscription rights, options, and investment funds: On the costing key date, the position is valued using the current security price.
  • Forex spot transactions: On the costing key date, the forex position is valued using the current exchange rate.
  • FRAs, swaps, forex forwards, caps/floors, OTC options: On the costing key date, a mark-to-market valuation is made of the single transaction.
