Definition

The calculation category for variable transactions determines the rules by which the volume, non-utilized credit lines, opportunity interest, interest contributions and opportunity contributions are calculated for variable transactions.

Use

The condition types of an account can be assigned to the following calculation categories:

  • Nominal interest
  • Opportunity interest (transfer price) in transaction currency and local currency
  • Opportunity interest (transfer price) in transaction currency and local currency (weighted adjustment)
  • Credit line
  • Fixed margin
  • NOP - no operation

Nominal interest

Condition types with the calculation category 'nominal interest' include the interest for asset-side and liability-side transactions. You can grade nominal interest according to amounts, in which case the system assigns level numbers in ascending order by amount.

Opportunity interest (transfer price) in transaction currency and local currency

To calculate the opportunity interest with fixed assignment or fixing intervals, in the condition type you enter the interest date that is to be used for accessing the interest rate tables.
In both the above procedures, the opportunity interest calculated in local currency and transaction currency is stored in the conditions, and can be displayed after costing.

Opportunity interest (transfer price) in transaction currency and local currency (weighted adjustment

To calculate the opportunity interest with weighted adjustment, you enter the adjustment period (for example, 3 months) and the percentual weighting rate in the respective time period.

Credit line

Condition types with this calculation category are generally assigned the active indicator.
You have the option of grading the line conditions according to amounts, in which case the system assigns level numbers in ascending order by amount.

NOP - no operation

No costing procedures are applied for condition types with the calculation category NOP.
You can use these condition types to transfer your own conditions (such as average interest rates) that are not relevant for costing. You transfer your own conditions in an external data transfer and store them in the system.
